COVID-19 PROCEDURES AND UPDATES

Caring for our visitor's and employee's health and well-being

To ensure the safety and health of our employees and guests, Olympic Ski and Snowboard School has made changes to our season protocols to include safety precautions against the Coronavirus Pandemic. We have drawn our winter season’s guidelines from the National Ski Areas Association's Ski Well, Be Well Programand Skibowl’s Winter Season Lookahead and guidelines.

Please read the following to ensure you understand our current and ever-changing guidelines. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate this challenging season. We are going to need the collective help from everyone to be able to hold lessons this winter!

  • Masks will be required: inside all buildings, in the parking lots, in lift lines, on chairlifts/conveyor lift, whenever physical distancing of 6’ cannot be maintained including while teaching

  • Physical Distancing: We ask that all instructors and guests maintain a 6’ physical distance unless impossible. Instructors have been provided with tools and techniques to help you learn best while staying safe.

  • Daily Wellness Checks: All employees and guests will participate in a daily health screening questionnaire and a touchless thermometer will be used to take temperatures before allowed in the building or to participate in lessons.

  • Ski School Check In Process: Guests will be asked to stay outside and utilize our walk-up window to check into their lessons. The window will have plexiglass separating guests and office employees. All guests are required to make advanced reservations. We ask that instructors spend as much time as possible outside skiing, etc. The goal is to provide a quality, recreational experience taking advantage of what the outdoors has to offer.

  • Cleaning Procedures: Before and after every lesson and eating, all employees must use hand sanitizer or wash their hands. Every night and periodically throughout the day, all employees will participate in a rigorous disinfecting process, such as treating commonly used surfaces (door handles, pens, etc.) and sterilizing joint-use equipment.

  • Volume management: community group lessons will be small, with the potential of single family unit group lessons up to 10 people with advanced inquiry.

  • Chair-lift management: Skibowl asks that groups maintain a 6’ physical distance and wear masks in all lift lines. If your student is participating in a lesson that rides the chair-lift and may need help, please reach out to us to talk about accommodations.

  • Health and Responsibility: We’re going to need the collective help from everyone visiting Skibowl to do their part in the effort of preventing the spread of Covid-19. We ask that you take personal responsibility and adhere to all guidelines. If you or someone you have been in contact with has been diagnosed with Covid or experience Covid-like symptoms, we ask that you contact us immediately. We will be able to notify everyone you have been in contact with efficiently - both guests and co-workers - and take precautions against the spread of the virus.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns that we can help you address.
